Couples and Families
Marriage and family issues can feel overwhelming, exhausting, and can create ripples of chaos within a family system. Building a healthier, "cleaner" relationship within your partnership or family is possible and definitely worth the work. Learning how to express needs, listen to a partner with greater awareness, address conflicts in a direct and loving way, and understand values and perspectives, are all skills that help couples and families find cleaner ways back to the family they intended to be all along. In therapy, couples and families can explore, practice, and then master new ways of relating, even amidst stressful situations. Many times, couples come into counseling when they are on the brink. They may feel stuck, overwhelmed, misunderstood and exhausted. In these moments, we like to offer skills to support new growth, growth that can lead to feeling respected, connected, heard, and valued. It is challenging to have healthy, grounded relationships, but it is possible to achieve this and we feel honored to help support this work. Other times, couples or families notice some patterns developing that don't seem to fit the values once held dear, or they notice some challenges arising that make them concerned. Coming into counseling now is a great opportunity to build new skills, create new ways of communicating, manage stress in a more balanced way, long before it becomes so significant your family feels stuck and broken. We offer compassionate support for families and couples seeking improved balance, wellness, and communication styles. Drawing from the skills and wisdom of Terry Real and the Relational Life Institute, couples and families will access great skills to live happier within their families and communities. |
