These are definitely "crazy" times. It is what I hear from my clients, my friends, myself. The vast changes and adjustments that have come from the pandemic have had ripple effects in all of our lives. I have told my clients that there seems to be a "g force" effect on all of us, this heavy pressure of stress and fatigue that coats our bodies and weighs us down. Peace is elusive since the pandemic hit.
And yet, as a therapist, it is my firm and honest belief that healing is possible. It happens. We can come out of dark and strained times with a new sense of hope and growth. It is why I am in therapy as a profession. I have come out of dark times to be in the light. I know this to be true of my own path. I know it to be true of my clients' paths as well. Despite this being very challenging right now, I know as a society, we will heal and grow. We as families, as individuals, as neighborhoods, will evolve from these moments of confusion and difficulty with a fierce, unwavering determination to not let this painful experience define us. We are survivors, thrivers, warriors, and we will rise from this as champions.
